Bucket Gardening

Without spending an exuberant amount of money, we were able to get some tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers going in 5 gallon buckets.

I prefer to buy seedlings from Bonnie because they advertise their plants come from heritage seeds and are "natural" non-GMO!

For under $50 we bought 7 buckets, 2 bags of river pebbles, 1 bg of sand, 5 bgs of Miracle Gro Potting Soil and 8 seedlings.

Having 76 degree weather the last two weeks, made it the perfect weekend activity for us, so we got started...

We drilled holes on the side of the buckets and watering tubes. Poured the sand and pebbles at the bottoms and filled with dirt to the rims of the buckets. Then transplanted the seedlings and gave them a good watering

We placed them on a raised make-shift shelf to keep the dogs from peeing on them!

And although I'm a city gal, my guy says he's gonna get me a straw hat and overalls!!! But the only farming I enjoy doing is Family Farm on my Android! LOL
