When people say they dread going on a diet, it's usually because the foods they think they have to eat will taste awful or be boring. But that's not true at all!
You have to make food fun, tasty and colorful. Yes, COLORFUL because your eyes have to approve it before the taste buds can appreciate it!
Here's an example of a salad I made using only fresh (not frozen or canned) ingredients.
GARDEN SALAD with CHICKEN:
-2 cups baby spinach
-1 cup kale
-1/2 red onion
-2 vine tomatoes
-3 bell peppers (different colors)
-1 cup shredded carrots
-1 hard boiled egg
-3 oz grilled chicken
-garlic, oregano, black pepper
-2 Tbsp olive oil
-balsamic vinegar (all lot)
-1Tbsp of quinoa
-2 tsp chia seeds
-1 Tbsp pumpkin or sunflower seeds
*if you want a different dressing, use something fat free*
*all seeds must be raw and unsalted*
This salad make 4 servings. You can track the calorie count using Fitness Pal app on your phone. You will be amazed how filling and low calorie, with just enough protein and good fat is in this salad! And it smells & tastes great!!!
