This year, Tuscaloosa's Earthday Festival is benefiting Friends of Hurricane Creek (hurricane-creek.org). After the tornado on Apr. 27, 2011 their campsites were completely decimated.

This is a free event but donations are welcomed. Donors will be entered into a raffle for gift cards, Earthday T-shirts, and more. Donations of more than $15 will receive a shirt to tye-dye.

Earth Day is a day early each year on which events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth's natural environment.
